WHS Student Receives Prestigious Leadership Award

Washingtonville High School Grade 11 student and JROTC Cadet Angelica Tripodianos is the recipient of the 2020 Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award, which is bestowed by the Parents Club of West Point.

JROTC Army Instructor Chief Brickel selected Angelica for demonstrating leadership skills as well as exceptional performance and potential in the areas of academics, athletics, and community service. She is currently the Battalion Commander of the Washingtonville JROTC Battalion, the captain of the Varsity Cheerleading team, the treasurer of Student Coalition, and a member of Safe School Ambassadors.

Angelica is honored to be receiving this award. “I am proud to uphold the mission of West Point as a student recognized as a leader working to be a good citizen, to be a part of something bigger, and help make our society better,” she said.
