Eric Lindahl of Troop 31 recently completed his Eagle Scout project at the County’s Veterans Memorial Cemetery, which pays tribute to service dogs and K-9’s.
The inspiration for Eric’s project came from Steve Renna, a Deputy Director with the Veterans Service Agency (VSA). Renna, who was injured while serving active duty in the U.S. Marines, has a service dog named Geronimo. Eric was moved by Renna’s bond with Geronimo and decided to erect a granite monument as a tribute to service dogs and service K-9’s throughout Orange County.
Eric completed the project with 10 other scouts from Troop 31. He also worked closely with Benedict Memorials and local landscape companies to beautify the area surrounding the monument.
