Local Equestrians Bring Championships Home From Nationals

Lil Miss Mambo Cash Ridden By Matt Palmer

Bob Santagata, Owner of Santa Hill Farm in Campbell Hall takes equestrian sports seriously.  Recently he partnered with Palmer Performance Horses for training and they brought some new top quality reining stock to the farm.  Matt Palmer’s first purchase for Bob proved well worth the effort.  Lil Miss Mambo Cash is now NRHA Level 4 Open Derby, Level 4 4-year-old Stakes Champion. Santa Hill Ranch/ Palmer Performance Horses  won all eligible divisions at the Mid Atlantic Derby.

This week’s heat did not stop the local equestrians from strutting their stuff.  Beth Post has been an  accomplished Western rider  and Quarter Horse breeder for much of her life at her Cedar Ridge farm in  Middletown.  But last week she traveled to Kentucky and did her first “Reining” show (where horses demonstrate some of the moves required on a cattle ranch) at the Lexington Horse Center.  Much to her delight she won the VRHA Beginner Reining Class with a score of 69.0 on her new horse Mojo. Beth trains reining at Gata Rein Ranch (GRR) with trainer Bill Bowen.
