Hildegarde’s Waterfall Is Rushing, But Will There Be Cygnets and Goslings?

Lake Hildegarde in Blooming Grove still has lots of  clean Spring water rushing over its waterfall.  None of the seven swans or dozen or so geese are out and about and have been in hiding for about 4 weeks.  We think they are tending eggs way back in the reeds at the southern end, as they do most years.  Another 2-3 weeks will tell whether the lake will have its annual flock of cygnets and little goslings The mother of a swan (female) is called a pen. The father of a swan (male) is called a cob.
