New Windsor’s New Top Dog

Last Friday the Orange County Sheriff’s Office held the K-9 Patrol School # 29 Graduation at the K-9 Academy in Montgomery. New Windsor’s K9 Duke finished a long series of training with his handler, officer Joseph Bell, of the Town of New Windsor PD and is ready to help keep residents safe.  Other graduates included Officer Joseph Mercurio and K9 Ott from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Michael Neuner and K9 Hunter from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Officer Kevin Halsey and K9 Rocky from the Town of Warwick PD, Officer Raymond Burr and K9 Remi from the Town of Ramapo PD and Officer Melissa Berke and K9 Keen from the Village of Monroe PD. The Graduates completed a 16 week Patrol School hosted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Carl E. DuBois, Undersheriff Kenneth T. Jones, and led by Head Trainer 1st Sgt. Dustin Palen and Assistant Trainers Deputy Vincent Iannuzzi and Officer Kevin Halsey. Congratulations to all the Graduates!
